Coach Guido and I have known each other for many years and I’ve always liked his approach. After my time with Steffi (Nerius, coach Bayer Leverkusen and javelin world champion), it felt like the right moment to explore new ways and Guido was the first person who came to mind. He combines experience, a modern perspective and a deep understanding of prosthetics. Joining his team simply felt like the perfect fit and let’s be honest, the huge improvements of the whole team speak for themselves.
The start has been perfect and I received a very warm welcome from the whole team. The vibe is super positive and fun but at the same time I can clearly see how committed everyone is… exactly what I hoped for.
The professional approach and clear goals feel very familiar. I’m used to open and honest communication and I truly believe that’s crucial for success. What’s different is Guido’s stronger focus on speed and sprint mechanics, which is exactly what I was looking for.
I still feel there’s more potential in my jumps and this environment gives me fresh motivation. There is so much knowledge and expertise within the team, which makes me believe that some really big jumps are still possible. At the same time, I hope I can bring my experience into our training. Both, as an athlete but also as a prosthetist.
I’m looking forward to growing together and yes, seeing as many of us as possible on top of the podium.
